The Creative Process Behind "Little Red Light": From Inspiration to Final Artistic Piece

Creating art is a journey that winds through the realms of imagination, reflection, and expression.

In this blog post, I will share with you the creative process behind "Little Red Light," a project that beautifully evolved from a simple moment of observation to a deeply resonant artistic piece. First let me share the stages of inspiration, poem and song creation, and finally, the merging of these elements into my final artistic piece.

Inspiration: A Spark in the Darkness

On the quiet evening of June 5, 2024, I found myself sitting in my living room, captivated by a serene spectacle. There, on the bar that divides my kitchen and living room, stood a vase catching the soft glow of a little red light. This light, emanating from the operating light of my coffee machine, danced through the vase—casting a warm hue in the dimness of the room. It was a moment of pure tranquility, one that I instinctively recorded on camera, sensing it had the potential to blossom into something more.

Poem and Song Creation: Crafting with Words and Melody

Inspired by the peaceful scene, I penned down a poem, capturing the essence of the moment in gentle, lyrical lines:

Little red light shines bright

In the dark of the night

Through the glass vase glow

Softly does it show

Sits on the kitchen bar

Not too close not too far

Between rooms it lies

Where shadows play and fly

Little red light you see

Holding on so tenderly

Reflecting in the dark

A shimmer a gentle spark

Blurring edges of the frames

Inside snuggled flames

Where moments come slow

In the gentle hush of home

Glancing from the couch

A quiet feeling vouch

Peaceful scenes unwind

With each soft red light find

With the poem in hand, I sought to transform these verses into a song. I utilized Suno, an innovative tool that generates music from provided lyrics and style preferences. Opting for an acoustic poetic pop style with a deep, warm male voice, I submitted my poem to Suno. The result was nothing short of amazing—a moving song that carried the warmth and tenderness of the original moment.

The Final Artistic Piece: A Symphony of Visuals and Sound

To bring the song to life, I decided to create a unique visual piece. Using the initial video recording of the red light through the vase, I layered it with the lyrical video generated by Suno. This fusion of moving imagery and gentle, melodic sound culminated in a beautiful multi-sensory experience. I further enhanced the presentation by incorporating a stunning image, blending all elements into a cohesive and unique artpiece.
