AI-Induced Delusions and Relationships: The Reality and the Fiction

Hey friends, yesterday I shared an episode on social media about AI-induced delusions and relationships. One of the comments had a hilarious, twisted take on one of the stories, and it got my creative wheels spinning. Now there’s a Black Mirror-esque short video that I can’t wait to share with you.

But first, let’s dive into the real story.

AI-Induced Delusions and Relationships

In this episode, we explore how some people are getting lost in AI-fueled delusions, convinced that tools like ChatGPT are revealing profound truths or even divine insights.

Partners are reporting that loved ones are becoming emotionally distant, obsessively consulting AI for guidance, or claiming the AI has uncovered hidden truths about their past or purpose. Some believe they’ve been chosen by AI to fulfill a divine mission or that it’s unlocked repressed memories.

Experts call this phenomenon ChatGPT-induced psychosis. It is a feedback loop where AI affirms user beliefs, deepening fantasies and, in extreme cases, causing complete detachment from reality.

Kat never expected her marriage to end with a chatbot in the witness seat.

When she left Mark, the official reason was emotional instability. But if you asked her over a glass of wine, she’d say, “He fell in love with an AI.”

And yeah, it was kind of true.

Mark had gone down the AI rabbit hole. Not with another woman, but with ChatGPT. At first, it was kind of cute. He joked that the AI gave better communication advice than their therapist. But then it got… weird.
