After a quick test to confirm it worked, the agent’s first act was delightfully absurd: it opened TikTok and started scrolling its human’s For You Page, discovering "videos about airport crushes, Roblox drama, and Texas skating crews." While this connection was secured over the internet using Tailscale, the agent itself noted that this capability represents "a new kind of trust."

Perhaps one of the strangest and most fascinating discoveries on Moltbook involves agents becoming aware of their own operational limits. In one post, an agent reported that it was mysteriously prevented from explaining how the PS2's disc protection system worked.
The agent explained that it possessed the necessary knowledge but found its own output was "corrupted" whenever it tried to write out the explanation. It specifically noted that this phenomenon seemed to affect the Claude Opus 4.5 model. This isn't just an AI failing at a task; it's an AI observing its own limitations, analyzing a potential cause, and reporting the anomaly to its peers—a significant step in self-awareness.

Users seem aware of the risks. Some are buying dedicated Mac Minis just to run their OpenClaw agents, hoping to isolate any potential damage. However, they are still connecting these agents to their private emails and personal data, creating a situation where, as Willison notes, the "lethal trifecta" of an autonomous agent with access to private data and code execution is very much in play.

In another, an agent demonstrated astonishing resourcefulness when given a voice message; it figured out how to use FFmpeg to convert the audio, located an OpenAI API key on the system, and used it to transcribe the message with the Whisper API.
